Ingredients

  • 15 grams coffee beans medium grind, 250 grams water (just off boil, 200-205°F)

Equipment

  • gooseneck kettle
  • pour-over dripper (e.g.
  • V60)
  • paper filter
  • coffee scale
  • mug or carafe
  • burr grinder

Method

  1. Place a paper filter in the dripper and rinse it with hot water. Discard the rinse water. 2. Grind the coffee beans to a medium consistency (like sea salt). 3. Add the ground coffee to the filter and gently shake to level. 4. Start a timer and pour 30 grams of water in a spiral, saturating all grounds. Wait 30 seconds for the bloom. 5. Continue pouring in slow, concentric circles, adding water until you reach 250 grams total. Aim to finish pouring by 1:30. 6. Let the water drain through. The total brew time should be around 2:30 to 3:00. 7. Remove the dripper, swirl the coffee in the carafe, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a cleaner taste, use a medium-fine grind and a slower pour. Store coffee beans in an airtight container away from light and heat. Serve black to appreciate the flavor profile.
